Q - Can other players sell to CJ and Flick on your island.

NO they can not! ONLY YOU can sell to CJ and Flick on your island. We ask you do not make a dodo code for people to go sell to them as they won't be able to.

Auctions and Giveaways

Q - I won an auction/giveaway but the person still hasn't replied back. How should I proceed?

All auctions and giveaways have a 24 hours grace period.

If an auction ends, the seller or buyer has 24 hours to communicate with the other party to coordinate a trade. Unless stated otherwise in the listing.
After the 24 hour grace period of no response, you are allowed to leave a review/rating.

Please remember to be nice on all reviews. Any rude or offensive ones will be deleted by a Moderator.
Spam and incomprehensible messages will also be deleted by a Moderator.

Q - Is someone snipping me on auctions? I watch the timer hit 0 then someone outbids me

No, the user simply bid at the last second and the site took a few moments to show it.

Q - I got outbid in the last second and I'm really annoyed, what should I do?

Nothing

Do not rate a user down simply for being outbid.
The whole point of an auction is to outbid someone, that is why it also called a bidding war. The last one to bid wins. Treat the dodocodes.com auction as a training ground to get used to how real auctions work.

 Q - I think there is something wrong with the auction/giveaway I won/listed.

After a recent update, this should no longer occur. This used to happen when user's deleted their account, but now, it will be replaced with a ghost. If this happened and they were the winner, just simply post a new auction for your items/villager.

Q - What do I do when I see someone post a fake dodo code or Auction?

We ask that you report it to us on the discord server so we may take action in deleting it. Fake dodo codes and auctions are not allowed. Please also vote the code down. 

Q - How do I keep a villager in boxes for an auction?

There are a few ways about doing so:

1. The most common way is to set your game time back to 5:02am (time travel) on the same day when you're about to go to sleep so the new day does not roll over. This will ensure the villager doesn't move out while you're sleeping.
2. Second one is to list your villager auction before 5am the day they are meant to move out. Thus having 24hours in a day to freely trade the villager. Be careful as some players may not always respond within the allotted time to trade the villager successfully, so you'll need to be prepared to time travel to keep the villager from moving out.
   

Q - How do I link DodoCodes to my Discord or other social media?

Go to the arrow next to your profile picture that you use to log out. Then on the drop-down go to Edit profile. There you can add or remove social media accounts.

Q - What are the badges on player's profiles?

Players can earn badges by becoming a patron, donating, and more. We also have some special badges for moderators, admins, writers, etc.

Writer: Given to approved writers to make articles for DodoCodes.com.

Moderator: Given to moderators on DodoCodes.

Admin: Given to the admin of DodoCodes.

Donator: Given to people who generously donated to help keep DodoCodes.com alive.

Discord Booster: Given to people who have boosted the DodoCodes server (Join us on Discord today!)

Founder: Given to people who generously donated prior to September 1, 2020.

Family: Given to people who have generously pledged $3 a month on Patreon to help keep DodoCodes.com alive.

Sponsor: Given to people who have generously pledged $5 a month on Patreon to help keep DodoCodes.com alive.

Backer: Given to people who have generously pledged $10 a month on Patreon to help keep DodoCodes.com alive.

Super Donator: Given to people who have generously pledged $25 a month on Patreon to help keep DodoCodes.com alive.

Pro User: Given to people who have generously pledged $50 a month on Patreon to help keep DodoCodes.com alive.

Q - I got an email that a new device logged in to my account!

We just released a new feature that allows you to see whenever someone logs in to your account. If you just got an email, it's very possible that it was you! No need to panic. Keep reading to learn how to make sure your account is safe.

To get started, you'll want to verify the information in the email and the time you logged in. If you logged in and got an email shortly after, it's very likely that you triggered the new device email. If you use Google Chrome and the email shows Chrome, you're safe. If you get an email at a time where you were not using the app, and the browser shows something different than you normally use, it's possible someone has guessed your password and you should consider immediately changing your password.

Here are a few reasons why you may get an email:

1. If your device recently updated to a new browser version (Like Chrome 90 to Chrome 91), OS version (like iOS 11 to iOS 12 or Android 9 to Android 10), Windows 8 to Windows 10, macOS Big Sur to macOS Monterey, etc.
2. If you switch from mobile network (4G, 5G) to Wi-Fi, or Wi-Fi to mobile network. 
3. If you're on Mobile Network and moving around to different physical locations. 
4. If your IP address changes.
5. If you're using Incognito mode or you cleared your browser cache / cookies.

Please note that the City and Location data is not always accurate depending on your Internet Service Provider. For example, the City may be hundreds of miles away even though it is in fact you accessing the service. You can verify your public IP address by visiting a service like https://www.whatismyip.com/ 

If you are at a school, public place, etc., it's possible your information can change multiple times while you're using the app. You will get a new notification for each change.

If these notifications become an issue for you, you're welcome to disable these notifications from your edit profile / notification page. 

After reviewing the information above and you still believe someone has access to your account, the best thing to do is change your password. If you use a social link like Log in with Discord, Facebook, etc.,  you'll want to make sure you change your passwords on those platforms.

We're sorry to see you go! If you'd like to provide feedback on why you are deleting your account, please feel free to reach out to us on Discord. We'd love to learn how we can make the experience better for other users. If you're deleting your account because of bad ratings and you're hoping a new account will clear up your reputation, please note that multiple accounts are against our TOS and your new account will be banned. If you have another issue like you've forgotten what social login you used, or you can't remember your password, we can help you on our Discord!

You can delete your account from your profile. Visit https://dodocodes.com/me and click the "Delete Account" button at the bottom. Please note that this is an irreversible action!
