The new Super Mario update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be available for download February 25th! However, certain items will not be available until March 1st with BCAT 1.8.0a.

This update brings with it a single new DIY, the shamrock wand DIY. You can find this DIY by popping balloons on Shamrock Day. The DIY requires 3 clump of weeds and 3 star fragments to create a shamrock wand. Shamrock Day begins March 10 – March 17

Super Mario themed clothing will be available for purchase at the Nook Stop on March 1st!
There will be outfit items available for Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Wario.
Other items available include, 1-up mushrooms, coins, brick blocks, question mark blocks, fire flowers, thwomps, mushrooms, green pipes and more!
Green pipes aren't just for decoration. They can be used to transport to another location on your island. Nintendo has confirmed that you are able to place more than two green pipes on your island, and you can even put them inside your home.
Can't forget about the flag pole from Super Mario 3D world.
Items available to purchase from the Nook Stop include, Pipe, Shell, Small Mushroom Platform, Super Star, Thwomp, and ? Block.
Clothing items available for purchase from the Nook Stop include, Princess Peach Dress, Wario Outfit, Luigi Shoes, Mario Shoes, Princess Peach Shoes, Wario Shoes and more! Other items include Block Flooring, Lakitu's Cloud Rug, and Yoshi's Egg Rug.
How to Get the New Super Mario Update
In order to get the Super Mario update for ACNH, you need to download the latest version of the update data (Ver.1.8.0) scheduled to be delivered on Thursday, February 25, 2020.
Please note that these items are time-locked; you cannot obtain these items early by changing your consoles time and date, even if you have downloaded the update. Once it is actually March first IRL, you must be sure your Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet and start the game with your Nintendo user account.
To be certain the update has download properly, also check whether the display version of the title screen is "1.8.0a".
