These rules are in regard to the website (DodoCodes.com), mobile app (DodoCodes iOS and Android), and the DodoCodes.com Discord server.

Please check back often for any changes and updates. You can see the last time the rules were updated at the top and bottom of this page.

Interactions

Do not be disrespectful. Respect includes listening and apologizing when someone tells you they do not feel comfortable with what you are saying, and it especially includes when another user states they feel insulted.
When going on another user's island, respect their rules. This includes not trampling over their flowers, not shopping unless given the okay, ending conversations when told to, as well as not stealing fruits, shells, or sticks.
Racial slurs, homophobic behavior, hate speech, and any form of intentional exclusion are PROHIBITED. This is an inclusive community - everyone is welcome and we would like it to stay that way. This extends to usernames and profile pictures.
Please refrain from discussing topics that are known to be controversial. This includes politics, gender & sexuality, addictions, and anything else the mods deem to be controversial. If it is posted you will be issued a warning, and continuous posts in regard to the topic will lead to a ban.
Trolling is not allowed. This means no encouragement of conflict, intentionally provoking users, or bringing up a situation that was already dealt with.
Be a law-abiding citizen. Do not discuss illegal activity, do not encourage illegal activity, and most importantly do not act in illegal activities. This includes inappropriate usernames and profile pictures that consist of illegal subjects or activities. Any hacking activities, devices, and promoting of hack programs will result in a ban. This includes any discussion or promotion of treasure islands, bots, item duplication, paying for items with real money, etc. Attempting to modify, reverse engineer, make copies, or share website or app source code, bypass protections, use APIs without direct consent and approval, will result in a permanent ban to protect the safety and integrity of the community. You may not decompile or reverse engineer the website or mobile app, for any purpose, or under any circumstance.
Advertising and discussion regarding other servers and communities are not allowed. We are unable to monitor servers/communities outside of dodocodes.com and DodoCodes Discord, we can not guarantee the quality of service, and we can not take action on any communications done outside of our community.
We will not provide any support to the usage of any external services, using external services NOT affiliated to us would mean that you as a user agree to absorb all risks and conditions which might relate to any form of Terms and Conditions set by any external authorities.
When talking on Discord, you should speak in English as it is an English speaking server. The website supports multiple languages, however, we ask that you please try to speak in English if possible.
Sending invites or direct messages (DM) to external sources that promise some form of reward perk or inviting and getting other users to join is not allowed and it will lead to a ban. This excludes artists promoting their work in the #art channel on Discord.
NSFW content is not allowed. Conversations/posts regarding sex/nudity is prohibited in all channels. This extends to your usernames, about pages, statuses, and profile pictures.
Usage of VPN (Virtual Private Network) to connect on our services is not allowed.

Speech

Impersonating any user is forbidden. This includes stealing profile pictures, pretending to be a bot, and matching your name to the user.
One account per user. Having extra accounts in the server to evade bans, give negative reviews, or have extra chances on giveaways may result in an IP ban.
Excessive toxicity (targeted harassment, inciting drama, etc.), offensive, subjective or controversial topics/memes are not allowed.
Swearing is allowed in small doses. This does NOT include directed swearing, or excessive swearing. This will be under the moderators discretion as they see fit.
Avoid spamming. Attempt to keep your words constructive to conversation or with intent to start a conversation. Throwing in random key slamming / excessive chat clogging may result in a mute.
It is extremely important that you do not call out users on the general chat for any reason. If you feel another user has wronged you, DM one of the moderators directly to handle the situation. This reduces flaming and allows problems to be properly investigated and dealt with.
Making threats or indirect threats to anyone in the community is not allowed, if you are found directly or indirectly threatening someone, you will be warned or banned.
Users who are found intentionally trying to bypass the bad word filter or blocked phrases will receive a warning. Attempting to bypass the filter to promote anything against these rules or the DodoCodes TOS will result in a ban without warning.

Trading & Auctions

Scamming is PROHIBITED. There will be zero tolerance for any form of scamming, and you will be banned from the site and server immediately.
You must follow up with your auctions/bids/trades/giveaway. However, do give the user 24 hours to complete the trade transaction with you. Please also take into consideration of the timezone differences when trading. Understand people have busy lives, and not everyone can get to the trade immediately.
Do NOT post multiple auctions for the same villager.
Trades are to be completed by yourself, escrow services are not allowed.
Trades involving real money or items are not allowed on this server.
The final auction winning bid price is ABSOLUTE. You are NOT ALLOWED to request a price change after the auction is completed just because you think that the final bid price was too low, you should either cancel the auction or place a higher starting bid price.
Shill bidding and Shield bidding are disallowed. If found, both auctioneer and accomplice would be banned. Shill bidding is the deliberate act of placing bids on the seller's behalf to artificially drive up the price of an auctioned item.

Cataloging

Cataloging is when you pick up the item and drop it. You do not take the item with you. This allows you to purchase the item from your Nooks Shopping (through the ABD or Nook Shopping app).
Please remember not everyone time travels. When trading through someone else’s Nook Shopping Catalog, be mindful that it can take up to 24 hours for that item to be mailed and delivered to you.

Appealing a Ban or Mute

If you feel that you have been banned or muted wrongfully, please use #report-users channel on Discord. Any community content enquiries not related to disputes should be in #community-help channel.
Do not discuss any form of disciplinary action in the public discussion board. Trying to encourage the public to persuade mods in your favor, or to discredit a mod is strictly prohibited.

Reviews

Please remember to review the user on the dodocodes.com website after any experience. Negative reviews will assist in finding scammers, people disobeying the rules, and just discovering who to avoid all together in future arrangements. Positive reviews will let others know that the person is likely to follow through as well.
Reviewing someone negatively because they have out bid you, or their island was full, not to your liking, or any other unreasonable negative review will result in a warning. Multiple warnings will result in a ban.

Disclaimer

Please note that these rules are subject to change. The moderators have full authority to step in and act on ANY situation they deem to be necessary. As such, arguing with a mod about their discretion on a situation will result in a temporary mute, and potentially a ban. If you feel a mod is being unfair, please DM a separate moderator about the situation.

Please remember that the moderation team members are human too and they have their own personal private life, do not expect them to be there 24/7 everyday. If you require assistance, the moderation team will get to you as soon as possible when one is available.

Dodocodes.com reserves the right at any time to vary, modify, amend, add or delete the terms and conditions, investigate or remove any malicious/suspicious accounts from the community without prior notice. Your continued usage of the website or discord after we post modifications will constitute your acceptance of and agreement to those changes. If you object to the changes, your recourse shall be to cease using the service provided by us.

By using the website and or staying in the community, you agree that you are aware of the Discord TOS, Discord Guidelines, and the rules stated above, if found evidence of you flouting the rules, guidelines and Discord TOS, you will be warned, banned or removed immediately.
